Questions about pricing
Is Khata really free? What's the catch?
No catch. Khata is free forever — no card required, no time limit. We make money when you upgrade to Pro for full accounting features. Many shopkeepers stay on Khata permanently and that is fine with us.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from Settings > Billing in one click. No retention calls, no cancellation fee. You keep access until the end of your current billing period. Your data stays exportable for 12 months after cancellation.
What happens at the end of the trial?
Pro 14-day trial reverts to Khata automatically — your data stays. You can upgrade anytime. No card is required for the trial. We will email a reminder 3 days before the trial ends.
Is GST included in the price?
No, prices are exclusive of 18% GST. We provide a tax invoice with our GSTIN so you can claim ITC on your subscription.
Do you offer education / NGO discounts?
Yes. Schools and NGOs registered under Section 12A get 50% off. Email community@askbooks.in with your registration certificate.
Can I switch tiers mid-month?
Yes — upgrade is instant and pro-rated. Downgrade takes effect at next renewal. No back-and-forth fees.
Do you accept UPI / net banking?
Yes — UPI, all major credit/debit cards, and net banking via Razorpay. We can also invoice you for offline NEFT/RTGS payment on annual plans.
Where is my data stored?
AES-256-GCM at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit. All data hosted in AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1). DPDPA-compliant. SOC 2 (planned) assessment in progress for Q3 2026.
