How is AskBooks different from Tally and Zoho Books?
AskBooks is purpose-built for India: cloud-native (no installed PC), 12 Indian languages, GST e-Invoice as a GST integration partner, free CA access, AI bank reconciliation, and mobile apps. Tally requires Windows installation and remote desktop for CAs. Zoho is built for Western freelancers with Indian compliance bolted on. AskBooks costs roughly half of Zoho and one-third of an annual Tally licence.
How long does migration from Tally take?
Typically 20-25 minutes for the data import. We migrate party masters, opening balances, product catalogue, and historical transactions automatically. Our migration team is on call during your switch — most businesses are live the same day. CA-certified onboarding is included with Pro and Enterprise plans.
Where is my data stored? Is it secure?
AWS Mumbai region with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. Daily encrypted backups with point-in-time recovery. ISO 27001 certified, SOC 2 (planned) in progress, fully DPDPA-compliant. Your data never leaves Indian servers, and you can export everything to Excel or PDF at any time.
Can my CA get access?
Yes, completely free. Invite your CA as a read-only or full-access user — they get a dedicated client switcher, audit trail access, period-close controls, and one-click GSTR exports. ICAI-verified CAs get a partner badge and white-label portal option.
