Problems we solve

Why D2C brands choose AskBooks Commerce

Three problems that kill ecommerce accounting — solved permanently.

Orders from 4 channels, books updated in none

Amazon order at 9am. Meesho order at 11am. Own store order at 2pm. Flipkart at 4pm. Accountant enters them manually at month-end — if they remember.

AskBooks fix

Every order from every channel flows into AskBooks the moment it's placed. Sale entry, GST calculation, and inventory deduction happen automatically. Books are always up to date — no month-end data entry marathon.

Return reconciliation is a nightmare

Amazon returns don't always generate credit notes. Meesho's return rate is 25%. Tracking which returns hit your account vs which are still in transit costs hours every week.

AskBooks fix

Return orders sync from all platforms with the original order linked. Return inventory is restocked or written off based on your policy. Credit note raised automatically. Reconcile returns in under 5 minutes.

GST on ecommerce is impossibly complex

TCS on Amazon sales. Different GST treatment for own store vs marketplace. Place of supply rules. GSTR-1 Table 8A for ecommerce. One wrong entry triggers a notice.

AskBooks fix

AskBooks knows the GST rules for every channel. Amazon and Flipkart sales auto-populate Table 8A in GSTR-1. TCS deducted by operators is tracked separately and reconciled against Form 26AS. No notices.

Place of supply, TCS on marketplace orders, and IGST vs CGST/SGST determined automatically per order. GSTR-1 pre-filled with correct e-commerce operator entries — no CA guesswork.

Channel-Wise Revenue Analytics

See gross sales, returns, and net revenue by channel — own store vs Amazon vs Flipkart vs Meesho. Identify which channel has the best margin after commissions and shipping.

Order Fulfillment Dashboard

Single screen showing all orders across channels with status — pending, packed, shipped, delivered, returned. Bulk print invoices and shipping labels in one click.

How it works

From order to settled books in 4 steps

01

Customer places order on any channel

Own store, Amazon, Flipkart, or Meesho. Order lands in AskBooks within 60 seconds of placement.

02

Pack, print label, ship

Warehouse team sees order in fulfillment dashboard. Print shipping label with AWB. Carrier scans and picks up.

03

Customer receives & confirms delivery

Status updates flow back from carrier. Customer gets WhatsApp confirmation. Delivered status closes the order.

04

Revenue and GST posted automatically

Sale entry, GST liability, marketplace TCS, inventory deduction — all posted to AskBooks the moment delivery is confirmed.

Integrations

Every Indian marketplace. Every courier. One dashboard.

Connect your selling channels in minutes — no webhooks or developer needed.

“We sell on 3 marketplaces plus our own site. Our CA was spending 2 days every month reconciling Amazon TCS and Meesho commissions. With AskBooks Commerce it's all done automatically — correctly — from day one.”

Common questions

How does inventory sync work across Amazon, Flipkart, and my own store?

All channels draw from a single inventory pool in AskBooks. When an Amazon order is placed, stock is reserved within 60 seconds. If the same SKU gets ordered on Flipkart before stock is restocked, the system flags oversell and holds the order. You set a safety buffer per channel to avoid this entirely.

How does TCS (Tax Collected at Source) on marketplace sales work?

Amazon and Flipkart deduct 1% TCS on your net taxable supply. AskBooks records TCS as a receivable for each settlement. At year end, TCS is reconciled against Form 26AS and offset against your tax liability. This is fully handled — you do not need to track it separately.

Can I use my own domain for the storefront?

Yes. Connect yourbrand.com on any paid plan — free SSL, automatic HTTPS redirects, and subdomain support all included. We also handle DNS propagation guidance. Your store loads on your domain within 15 minutes of setup.

How does GST invoicing work for ecommerce orders?

Every order generates a GST-compliant invoice with GSTIN (if B2B), HSN, place of supply, and tax breakup. For marketplace orders, invoices reflect the marketplace's own GST treatment (e.g., Amazon's e-commerce operator provisions under Section 9(5)). GSTR-1 is pre-filled correctly for all order types.

What happens when a customer returns an order from Amazon?

Amazon pushes the return back to AskBooks via API. The original sale entry is reversed, inventory is restocked (or quarantined for quality check based on your policy), and a credit note is generated. If Amazon is refunding the customer, the liability is tracked until the settlement deducts it.

From storefront to settlement, in one platform.
